Starts With You
Together, we can make an impact for a community of young children who do not have the means to obtain school supplies. This project’s goal is to deliver 100 filled backpacks for 100 students who live in the rainforest of the Amazon Jungle in Peru.

The Cause
Deep within the Amazon rainforest in Peru lives an indigenous population of 42,000 people. They live deep in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve in the midst of forests, lagoons and inlets. Education is free for the children who are part of these communities, but students are required to purchase their own school supplies and athletic gear which is a hard financial burden for their families.
The Backpack
My goal is to raise enough money to have 100 filled backpacks delivered to 100 students who live in three communities in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve: Buenos Aires, 20 de Enero and Bolivar. The schools they attend are initial (3-4 years old) and primary (6-11 years old) education.
Partnership
I have partnered with Galli Zugaro, the CEO of Aqua Expeditions, which is a travel company that offers luxury cruises around the world.
My Story
In December of 2023, my family and I had the opportunity to visit the Amazon River in Peru with the travel company Aqua Expeditions. During this experience, I was able to visit a community that lives right on the shoreline, in the rainforest, of the Amazon jungle.
